Follow The Beano's five simple secrets to get you started as you discover how to create a comic strip. We have also explained what each of the technical words means to help you along the way.

  1. Plan and write a script
  2. Use pencil and paper to ‘rough’ out your comic strip plot
  3. Add balloons into your design to contain the dialogue
  4. Draw over the rough plan to create a strong ‘line
  5. Colour in your comic strip and add SFX
